Drew is 6 months old and couldn’t be cuter. He is such a joy! He smiles at just about anyone that will smile at him. He coos and squeals and laughs. He laughs when we jiggle his feet or blow raspberries on his chest. He is so interactive. He likes to talk and groan to Cookie Monster each morning in the bouncy seat while Mom takes her shower. When we leave daycare he tilts his head way back to watch the red EXIT signs over the doors. He likes to sit up now. He doesn’t have as much patience to lay on his back anymore. He likes to sit up on the couch and play with his toys. Now that he has 20/20 vision he can see me from the TV room if I’m in the kitchen. He keeps his eye on me (and TV). He also likes to be in the saucer in the kitchen so he can play with his horse or suck on his rings while watching everything going on around him. He reaches out to the dogs and cats now. He likes to grab Shadow’s fir when she gets close enough and he likes it when Darby licks his out-stretched hand. Then, of course, his hand goes in his mouth like everything else. Every toy and his fingers make it into his mouth. He won’t take a pacifier although he’ll suck on any other end of his doggie pacifier. He is sleeping through the night (knock on wood) which makes life MUCH better for mom and dad. His bottom two teeth are in and the upper canine teeth are coming in. He loves his food. He still gets 6-7 oz bottles around 6am, 9am, 12noon, 3pm, 6pm, and 8pm or bedtime. He seems to like carrots best, but he still likes the sweet potatoes, green beans, and bananas. He’s starting to do better napping at daycare. Most days he takes a nap from 11-noon and for at least a half hr some other time during the day. At his Dr. appt yesterday he weighed 16 lbs 11 oz (50%) and is 27.5 inches long (75%). Perfect. He got more shots and cried but was comforted in his dad’s arms. He likes to feel his dad’s beard. I think he’s going to be confused for a bit when Rolf shaves. Drew can roll over both ways now and I’m already worried about child-proofing the house. I put him down on the bathroom floor the other day and he rolled over and opened one of the cabinet doors. Trouble is on the way! And I’m looking forward to every bit of it.
